Well guys, ever since Aimee and Kasumi provided me with some good evidence of a balance issue in the new weapon, I’ve been trying to get you an update, but Second Life has been down for 12 hours now, and shows no signs of ever getting fixed 
Even during the brief times it was up, and the hour or so before LL noticed the issue, I couldn’t save any scripts or upload any of my fancy-schmancy new textures.
I do have an update that should be ready for testing as soon as LL gets the issues resolved and I can distribute it to the beta testers.
Until then, I will console myself with images of how hectic it must be for LL trying to fix the problems, I’m sure things are frantic there :

Heh… I’m rebuilding my new sword, actually
I want to do a little more work on the textures, but a lot of things have changed on it since I imported the base sculpted pieces into SL, so now I have to re-create what I did in SL in my modeling program. That just seems backwards, but at least it’s keeping me busy
It’s odd that I know so many people who were ready test and release updates to their products last night and today. I was eager to log in this morning to finish updating one of mine and was surprised to find the grid still marked as Offline. I suppose I’ll finish cleaning my apartment.

Yeah, that’s some pretty phenomenal timing, I guess. Linden Lab is doing a public beta test of the Havok 4 code, you are wanting to test the new Ninja HUD, I want to test an update to the Taketori Katana, my daughter (on the Teen Grid) wants to test some new stuff of hers as well.
I guess it’s not too terribly surprising, since that’s what content creators do, but it is kind of interesting that we all came to the end of our respective projects at the same time.
One of my friends was updating his golf clubs last night with a major update when all the problems started as well. I suppose that we are to blame with some kind of weird Murphy’s Law reasoning.

Oh and wow…10,000 hits on my blog since I posted my rant at 8 PM SLT last nite. LOL Cuz I posted during the 30 second window where SL still had trackback pings open on their blog. And 443 *very* angry comments on my blog post so far! ROFL

I had the same thing happen not too long ago on the “You’re killing me here” post. A very very busy day for my blog, I had 2100 referrals from the SL blog in one day. Heck, I’m still getting referrals from that.
I know at least one person in your comments has watched your videos and liked them, so the exposure is kinda nice. Well, except that most of today’s visitors are pissed off people who write comments *to* Linden Labs on a blog LL probably doesn’t even read, not exactly your target demographic, but there are probably at least a few people who’ll be repeat visitors now
Actually Aimee, I just checked, and I’m getting a decent amount of blogroll referral from you today, so there’s definitely some people there for more than just a rant
Yah there’s 2 or 3 people in the comments who’ve said they wanna get together inworld so I can show them C:SI and 1 more person into C:SI already who wants to dance. And coolies that I’m pushing traffic yer way! I guess having the Daikon Forge RSS under categories is doing you some good! xD
