C:SI Update, New Vendors, and Peanut Butter

I’m going to keep this post nice and short :)

I didn’t want to release yet another update without updating the Wave Katana vendors to be networked like the Taketori vendors, so I spent the last day and a half refactoring my vendor system to be more efficient and general-purpose.  I’ve put out new Wave and Taketori vendors in a few locations for testing purposes, and things appear to be going much smoother than the last time I updated my vendors.  If I have a vendor in your mall/store/sim and haven’t updated it, I’ll get around to it as soon as I’m able to.

I think I’m basically ready to beta-test my updated weapons, but it seems that it’s going to be at least a few more days before I’m able to sanity-check everything and start testing, due to having apparently become victim to food poisoning :(

More info to come when I don’t feel quite so wiped out.

For those that are wondering, Robby is really really sick right now and is probably not responding to anyones emails. That ok because he needs his rest right now.

The Beta test version of his new weapon has NOT been handed out to anyone and will NOT until he gets better. We all wish Robby a fast recovery.

Just trying to let everyone know :)

Actually, it just occurred to me on seeing JulieAnne’s message (thanks!) that I never informed everyone that just as I was getting over the food poisoning, I have contracted a very aggressive case of the flu :(

Needless to say, I do not feel up to doing much of anything constructive at the moment.

I’ll be back as soon as I recover somewhat. I only pray that it doesn’t take long.

For future reference, threatening patients with katana is not a general medical practice. Get your rest Robby. See you soon!

Solace, you as a research should understand that medical science will not advance unless all aspects of treatment are explored and documented. I submit this technique is unconventional however, as soon as I have documented the experience, I will share the results.

As I was saying, Robby… close the laptop or else.

Julie, you’d never get that past the review board.

Perhaps not, but… With a katana in her hand, she might cause a new review board to have to be assembled :)

It seems that I’m improving, btw. I still sound like shit, and can’t hear a damned thing, and have a moderate fever, but I no longer feel like I’m going to die *TODAY*, so I guess that’s improvement?

NO, improvements don’t count Robby. Close the laptop… and as for you Solace, I can be very persuasive.

Apparently, FEMA is distributing food kits that may contain salmonella-tainted peanut butter also: http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/02/04/fema.peanut.butter/

This is just one of the reasons why I think our government’s recent focus on deregulation, and widespread lack of accountability, is absolutely evil. Big business is fundamentally incapable of self-regulation, and to pretend otherwise is patently absurd.

Remember, the salmonella outbreak could affect your pet as well. It’s been found in dog biscuits and dog food, where the peanut butter comes from the same plant in Georgia.

Unfortunately, quality control for pet products is even more dismal, and it’s quite common in fact to find salmonella in pet foods even outside of this particular incident.
