As many of you already know, I’ve been working on a new C:SI weapon for some time now. It’s been one of those projects where I sweat and agonize over every little detail, and I’ve probably started over from the beginning on each piece of the thing no less than three times each. That’s okay for the most part, and it’s just part of the process for me, but it often means that I experience a bit of burnout before any big project is complete.
What I needed was a way to reboot my enthusiasm for building, something that could be done from start to finish in a short period of time, and for that reason, I created the DF-1 Combat Knife. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not combat-capable, it’s just a combat knife styled prop/accessory that I’ve kind of wanted to do for a very long time.
If such a thing is interesting to you, I encourage you to visit the XStreetSL listing and view the available images of the knife. I hope that you’ll agree with me that for a quick project it didn’t turn out too bad
Now that I’ve had a little creative diversion, I’m feeling more energized about continuing work on my upcoming C:SI weapon. It’s kind of funny that way, I learn new stuff on every build, and now there are things I want to tweak on the new weapon as a result of working on this knife. Hopefully the end result will be better for it, haha.

Indeed great builing Robbie, Its highly detailed. Congrats.
*waits for bamboo special for Taketori*
Oh yeah…. Well, that’s pretty far down on my todo list right now, though I do still intend to get it done eventually.
I knew I should never have put that off, haha.
Yeah… I didn’t think that you would start building a new weapon without finishing the Taketori… XD
I didn’t think so either, and I’m not entirely sure how that happened to be honest.
I do feel like I released the Taketori before it was ready, and that’s partly because of the issue of burnout as I described above. I’m trying really hard to avoid that this time around, though it means that it will take longer to finish the weapon of course.
*Falls to his knees and yells with out stretched hands* “Noooooooooooooo!” lol
Not even a sheath/unsheath script? Come man! I expect better! lol At least put the one that Arch has for his tanto? lol :p
Okay, fine… Check your updates :p
*giggles with delight* TEE HEE! lol MUCH better! :3 Thankies! Now I must spread the word of RobbyRaccoon through out the lands!
One of the reasons that I put the auto-update script in there is so that I could add features over time, rather than risk getting distracted for a much longer period.
It’s all well and good to take a little diversion now and again, but the last thing I wanted to do was pick up another big project when I already have so much on my plate
