A recent thread by JulieAnne reminded me that I have been meaning to post something for a very long time. So long, in fact, that I’m not even sure this information is still valid. If this information is now out of date, please let me know and I’ll correct or remove it as appropriate.
A while back I had been poking around in one of the Hosoi sims checking out all the buildings and how they’d laid out the sim, and admiring how everything came together, when I was approached by one of the sim admins. During our discussion I was informed that the sim was used for roleplay, using C:SI as the combat system.
He gave me a notecard outlining the RP, and I’ve been meaning to post about it ever since. I know, I suck, I should have done so right away. Better late than never?
Following is the contents of the notecard that I was given at that time:
The Shadows on the wall – a Japanese story
The Town of Hosoi Mura on Kansai have long dealt with attacks from outlaws. Outlaws and bandits who live in the mountains in simple huts and caves, stealing from the weaker people.
The lawmen of Hosoi Mura along with some young fighters from around the town have had success holding of the attacks, but after a massive raid in the Okiya one cold winter night, most of the Geishas and the fighters were killed. The town called for help so the Emperor appointed one of his captains from the Imperial Lifeguard as a Shogun and send him to Hosoi Mura along with a group of Samurais. The Shogun was called Katsu Tanaka and he was a strong man. In spirit and in upholding law and order.
The new Shogunate in Hosoi Mura fought the outlaws back into the mountains, and one morning Katsu Tanaka and his Samurais rode out into the mountains wanting to end this reign of terror once and for all…
Left behind in Hosoi Mura were a couple of lawmen and some of the townsfolk. The Ryu family seemed like being the only family who hadn’t suffered from the attacks, maybe because they were the family whom had give the fewest of fighters to aid the towns course and defending the city walls, even though they always have been the biggest and strongest family in Kansai.
The Okiya (Geisha School and Tea House) was being restored and a couple of new young girls had moved to town in order to become Geishas. The Oka-San had been traveling around the Japanese islands to find new fresh and young blood to learn the way of becoming a Geisha. Soon the house will thrive in all its splendor and singing and dancing will fill the streets once again.
Because the dropping of people in Hosoi Mura, Kansai the Izakaya (Sake House) along with the Ryokan (Hotel) had been closed for several months. Not really certain of what’s going on, people have began noticing sounds and movement in the old buildings…
